Realm Hospitality, the first hotel management company established in Bhutan, has opened a 15-key luxury boutique property in Thimphu. The luxury boutique resort is located on the hills outside Thimphu and offers valley views from all rooms and the restaurant. Its 15 rooms and suites, starting from 75 sqm. in size, are among the largest in the country and feature four-fixture bathrooms, large private terraces and under-floor heating. It also has a spa where a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath and an outdoor couple treatment room will become operational shortly. Dewa means ‘peace’ in Dzongkha (the national language of Bhutan). “Dewa Thimphu is conceptualized on the lines of a large but cozy residence. We want our guests to associate the genuine warmth, personal attention and flexibility to their different needs with what they would expect at a close friend’s home.” said Sid Savkur, CEO, Realm Hospitality, which manages the resort. Realm Hospitality is focused on operating boutique hotels at popular and undiscovered locations. The company follows a soft brand approach to its portfolio with hotels having the ‘by Realm’ suffix. Its second hotel is opening soon – The Pema by Realm, a chic boutique hotel in the heart of Thimphu – and at least three other hotels are in the pipeline to open by next year.
